CURRENT LABEL ARTISTS

NIGAMUSHI AND SOLID

Nigamushi is a Tokyo native who lives and works in his hometown. His colorful work is influenced by classic Japanese animation, 1930’s Japanese advertising style, and American Pop Art.  Although he attended design college, Nigamushi has been drawing and painting since he was a child. His work today straddles two worlds—commercial and product design and personal expression.

Nigamushi will be featured in this year’s Forest for the Trees mural festival in Portland, Oregon. If you find yourself in Portland before then, you can visit the mural he created in a past festival at 412 NW Couch.

TIM BISKUP and WHOLE IN THE HEAD

Tim Biskup is a Southern California artist whose practice is focused mainly on abstract and figurative painting, but extends into sculpture, printmaking and music.  He studied fine art at Otis/Parsons before entering the animation and illustration industries where he honed his technical skills.  In 1999 he gathered a community of artists and began hosting live art auctions at bars around Los Angeles. He quickly found an audience for his personal work. His complex color and design theories pushed forward a decidedly populist aesthetic which has continued to develop and morph over the years. Now, with an established following and over a dozen solo exhibitions under his belt, he is beginning work on a mid-career retrospective book and museum exhibition slated for launch in 2017.

Tim has also been making records with his brother, Mike, since the early 1980s.  Their band is called BIG BUTTER.
